The International Women’s Club of Brunei Darussalam (IWCB) held a Chinese New Year celebration at a hotel in the capital recently, attended by members of the diplomatic corps in Brunei Darussalam.
Among the guests were ambas- sadors, high commissioners, deputy high commissioners and spouses from foreign missions.
The event began with IWCB Pub- lic Relations Officer Hajah Mahanum Abu Zar introducing the new committee to the guests.
This was followed by a welcome speech from the club’s Deputy Vice President Naz Rashid.
This was the first event organised by the new executive committee for the 2025/2026 term.
Seven students from Chung Hwa Middle School, Bandar Seri Begawan led by their coordinator, Lim Yen performed a cultural show featuring the guzheng, a traditional Chinese stringed instrument dating back to the Tang Dynasty (600 CE).
